Second of back-to-back Arguments Presented to Maine Law Court

On May 10, 2012, Bruce McGlauflin presented oral argument to the Maine Law Court in Ed Friedman v. Public Utilities Commission, a case in which the Law Court is being asked to decide whether the Maine Public Utilities Commission erred in dismissing the complaint filed by Mr. Friedman regarding the use of smart-meter technology by Central Maine Power Company.

Mr. McGlauflin represents Mr. Friedman and other interested parties. In his complaint, Mr. Friedman alleged that in dismissing his complaint, the Commission failed to consider relevant case law, failed to conduct a proper investigation of the numerous issues raised in the complaint and essentially ignored its statutory mandate to ensure the delivery of safe and reasonable utility services. This was the second oral argument presented to the Law Court by PMH attorneys in a two-day span.
