Ryan is from New Sharon, Maine and now lives in Portland with his wife, who is also an attorney.  Ryan is a 2014 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude).  He is admitted to practice law in Maine.

During law school Ryan served as the Head Case Note and Comment Editor for the Maine Law Review, overseeing the journal’s student publications.  He authored State v. Brown, A Test for Local Food Ordinances, 65 Me. L. Rev. 790 (2013), and Personal Jurisdiction in the Data Age, MacDermid v. Deiter’s Adaptation of International Shoe Amidst Supreme Court Uncertainty, 66 Me. L. Rev. 327 (2013).  In addition, Ryan interned for the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, was a teaching assistant for an Introduction to United States Law LLM course, and was an extern for the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar. 

After law school, Ryan served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Joseph M. Jabar of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.  He is a member of the Edward T. Gignoux Inn of Court and the New Lawyers Section of the Maine State Bar Association.

Ryan is a 2010 graduate of the University of Southern Maine (B.S.).  When he’s not practicing law, he enjoys running, hiking, and surfing.
