Traffic laws pertaining to bicycle use are now codified in one convenient location

Until recently, laws governing the responsibilities of cyclists in Maine have been scattered among various statutes. On June 12, 2015, this changed with the passage of LD 1301, which clearly spells out the traffic laws pertaining to bicycle use and codifies them in one place.

Whether you are a cyclist who wants to know your rights and responsibilities, or a motorist who wonders what rules cyclists need to follow, 29-A M.R.S. 2063 will now have all of the information for you.
