MICHAEL K. MARTIN was born in Portland, Maine on November 6, 1957. He is admitted to practice in Maine, the United States District Court for the District of Maine, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Mr. Martin is a 1985 graduate of the University of Southern Maine (B.A., magna cum laude), and a 1989 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law (J.D., cum laude), where he served as a member of the Moot Court Board, and was the recipient of West's Award for Excellence in the Study of Property Law.
Mr. Martin is co-author of The Implied Covenant of Good Faith: Now You See It, Now You Don't, 9 Me. Bar Journal 5 (1994). He is a member of the Cumberland County, Maine State and American Bar Associations, and of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Martin is Past President of the University of Maine Law School Alumni Association and Treasurer of the Cumberland Bar Association, the oldest active bar association in the United States. Mr. Martin also sits on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Town of Cumberland.
